Samenvatting
In dit hoofdstuk wordt de (gemodificeerde) Sims classificatie toegelicht. De Sims classificatie is een risicoclassificatie. Dit houdt in dat er zo nauwkeurig mogelijk wordt bepaald welk risico iemand met DM op een voetulcus heeft. Op basis van de Sims classificatie volgt al of niet doorverwijzing naar de medisch pedicure, (diabetes)podotherapeut of naar de tweede lijn. Bij voorkeur wordt bij verwijzing verwezen naar een diabetes-voetenteam.
