Zusammenfassung

Der Nutzen von Punktaten in der Diagnostik von Veränderungen in der Brustdrüse wird zur Zeit lebhaft diskutiert (für eine Übersicht der Literatur vgl.4, 6, 17). Die Indikationen für die Anwendung der Methode sind sehr verschieden. Von einigen Arzten wird die Nadelbiopsie der Brustdrüse angewandt, um Zysten zu leeren. Normalisiert sich der palpatorische Befund nach dem Entleeren der Zyste, kann die Punktion einen chirurgischen Eingriff überflüssig machen. Andere Ärzte führen Aspirationsbiopsien der Brustdrüse aus, um die Diagnose eines inoperablen Karzinoms vor dem Einsetzen von Bestrahlung bestätigen zu können, oder um eine Differentialdiagnose zwichen einer akuten Mastitis und einem Karzinom mit Entzündung zu erhalten.
