Abstract

In the unconscious patient the autonomic regulation of vital functions is more or less impaired. It must be emphasized that even a minor degree of impairment of these functions is by itself a menace for the patient’s life and has, as a rule, a harmful influence on the evolution of the primary lesions of the CNS.
