Bericht über die Tätigkeit der Bundesanstalt für alpine Landswirtschaft in Admont im Jahre 1948

Zusammenfassung

Die Bedeutung moderner Getreidezüchtung für die Produktivität der Landwirtschaft und damit für die Ernährung eines Staates wurde in den letzten Jahren von den meisten Staaten in steigendem Maße erkannt. Als Voraussetzung für eine großzügige Förderung hat jedoch der Staat vom Züchter weitgehende Planung und klare Zielsetzung zu fordern, doch darf der letztere umgekehrt von Staat und Praxis Verständnis für die Tatsache erwarten, daß der Erfolg seiner Arbeit wesentlich von der Auswertung neuester wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse seines Arbeitsgebietes abhängt. Diese für Technik und Medizin längst selbstverständliche Notwendigkeit gilt mit der zunehmenden Entwicklung der Genetik und Züchtung im besonderen Maße für deren praktische Anwendung in der Pflanzenzüchtung.
