Zusammenfassung

Im Rahmen des akuten Abdomens auftretende pathophysiologische Veränderungen werden in diesem Kapitel beispielhaft am Problemfeld intraabdominelle Infektionen/Peritonitis erörtert, da typische Leitsymptome wie plötzlich auftretende heftige Bauchschmerzen, Abwehrspannung der Bauchdeckenmuskulatur, Veränderungen der Darmtätigkeit mit Störung der Darmentleerung sowie Fieber und in schweren Fällen Zeichen des Kreislaufschocks vorwiegend dadurch bedingt sind bzw. auch bei primär nichtinfektiösen Ursachen des akuten Abdomens einen wesentlichen Bestandteil der Erkrankung darstellen.
