Zusammenfassung
Elektrischer Strom und Motorsport – das hat es schon mal gegeben. Vor mehr als 100 Jahren war noch gar nicht klar, dass der Verbrennungsmotor das Rennen machen wird. Das erste Straßenfahrzeug, das die 100-km/h-Grenze durchbrach, war „La Jamais Contente“ von 1899, eine fahrende Batterie mit torpedoförmigem Aufbau und Elektromotor. Die FIA Formel E hingegen ist die erste rein elektrisch betriebene Motorsport-Serie der Welt. Sie hat zum Ziel, das Potenzial von nachhaltiger Mobilität für die Zukunft aufzuzeigen. Die Formel E fährt ihre Rennen ausschließlich auf extra installierten Stadtkursen in Metropolen rund um den Globus. Möglich werden die ungewöhnlichen und attraktiven Locations durch die geringe Lautstärke der Autos und ihre Emissionsfreiheit.
