Zusammenfassung
Das Venensystem dient dem Abtransport des Blutes aus dem Gewebe und ist daher analog zu den Arterien, jedoch in umgekehrte Richtung aufgebaut. Die Venen haben ihren morphologischen Ursprung im Kapillarsystem, aus dem sich die Venen zu immer größeren Gefäßen zusammenschließen. In Abhängigkeit von ihrem Kaliber werden sie venöser Anteil der Kapillare, Venolen, Seitenastvenen und Stammvenen genannt.
