Zusammenfassung
Die Geschichte der IT ist aus einer technologischen Sicht vor allem die Geschichte der Computer (Rechner, Hardware) und der Programme (Software). Notwendige Vorarbeiten in Mathematik und Logik waren etwa die Zahlendarstellung im Zweiersystem und die entsprechende Algebra der Logik von George Boole. Diese ist ebenfalls zweiwertig, denn Aussagen sind entweder wahr oder falsch. In den Dreißigerjahren stellte Alan Turing ein vollständiges (theoretisches) Modell eines Universalrechners vor.
