Zusammenfassung
Die Autismus-Spektrum-Störungen (ASS) werden in erster Linie mit Einschränkungen in der sozialen Interaktion und Kommunikation sowie mit repetitiven Verhaltensmustern in Verbindung gebracht. In Bezug auf die kognitive Leistungsfähigkeit von Menschen mit ASS liegen bisher nur wenige Untersuchungen vor. Defizite im Bereich der Exekutivfunktionen sind dabei am besten belegt, was auf deren Bedeutsamkeit für die Alltagsfunktionalität zurückzuführen ist. Die objektivierten Defizite beispielsweise in der kognitiven Flexibilität werden zudem im Zusammenhang mit Einschränkungen in der Theory of Mind sowie einem vorliegenden Konkretismus diskutiert. Im Bereich der Aufmerksamkeit wurde mehrfach eine Hyperfokussierung auf Details postuliert. Die bisherigen Befunde in Hinblick auf die Domänen Lernen/Gedächtnis und Verarbeitungsgeschwindigkeit sind uneinheitlich, sodass weiterer Klärungsbedarf besteht.
