Zusammenfassung
Ohne Kenntnis eines Normalbefundes ist das Erkennen und Deuten von Pathologien in der radiologischen Diagnostik nicht möglich. Die Vielzahl von Varianten – aber auch Fehlerquellen und Pitfalls – erschweren eine Beurteilung von Röntgenaufnahmen in der Altersgruppe der Neugeborenen. Der Normalbefund des Neugeborenen im Röntgen-Thoraxbild unterscheidet sich gravierend von dem des Jugendlichen oder Erwachsenen. Die Proportionen sind verschieden (z. B. Thoraxbreite und -tiefe sind etwa gleich groß, das Herz erscheint deutlich größer). Die dorsalen Lungenanteile reichen weit nach kaudal, sodass diese in der Frontalebene durch die Oberbauchorgane überlagert werden. Der Verknöcherungsgrad der skelettalen Bestandteile des Thorax weicht stark von dem Erwachsener ab. Der Einfluss von Überlagerungen oder mangelhafter Einstelltechnik ist wesentlich größer als im Erwachsenenalter.
