Zusammenfassung
Die enzymatische Hydrolyse im Rahmen eines Bioraffinerieprozesses spielt eine Schlüsselrolle in der Umwandlung lignocellulosehaltiger Biomasse in Zucker, die wiederum als Substrate für die Fermentation zu Chemikalien oder Kraftstoffen eingesetzt werden. Dabei beschreibt Abschn. 15.1 die Zusammensetzung der Lignocellulose aus Cellulose, Hemicellulose und Lignin und deren Einfluss auf die Hydrolyse. Cellulose wird durch von Pilzen sekretierte Cellulasen in das Monomer Glucose abgebaut (Abschn. 15.2), während Hemicellulose und Lignin durch Hemicellulasen und Ligninasen abgebaut werden (Abschn. 15.3). Die Wahl eines geeigneten Enzymcocktails hängt von der Zusammensetzung der Biomasse ab und diese wiederum von den Vorbehandlungsverfahren (Abschn. 15.4). Abschließend werden besondere Herausforderungen am Beispiel einer Ethanolbioraffinerie aufgezeigt (Abschn. 15.5).
