Zusammenfassung
Allergische Erkrankungen bei Kindern und Jugendlichen werden jedem Pädiater regelmäßig begegnen. Diese Entitäten umfassen atopische Dermatitis, Nahrungsmittelallergie, allergische Rhinokonjunktivitis, allergisches Asthma bronchiale, Insektengift- und Medikamentenallergien und gehören zu den häufigsten chronischen Erkrankungen. Eine systematische Diagnostik und entsprechende Therapie führen dazu, dass die zugrunde liegende Entzündungsaktivität gemindert wird und die Erkrankung kontrolliert verläuft, sodass die Einschränkung der Lebensqualität und Leistungsfähigkeit reduziert wird. Insbesondere gilt es auch Notfallsituationen wie die Anaphylaxie zu verhindern und Patienten und ihre Betreuer entsprechend im Management der Erkrankung und potenzieller Akutsituationen zu schulen. Die Spontanremission in Hinblick auf atopische Dermatitis und Nahrungsmittelallergie ist hoch, auch gibt es kausale Therapieansätze bei Nahrungsmittel- und Inhalationsallergien, die spezifische Immuntherapie.
