Zusammenfassung
Ähnlich anderen Wärmekraftwerken wird für Gasturbinenkraftwerke eine Nutzungsdauer von 30 bis 40 Jahren zu Grunde gelegt. In diesem Zeitraum altert eine Gasturbinenanlage. Verglichen mit dem Auslieferungszustand, nehmen Wirkungsgrad und Leistung deutlich ab und Schadstoffemissionen können ansteigen. Andererseits drängen hocheffiziente und schadstoffarme Gasturbinen der neuesten Generation auf den Markt. Sie repräsentieren den aktuellen Stand der Technik und treiben damit die Herabsetzung der Genehmigungswerte für Schadstoffemissionen an. Möglicherweise genießen sie darüber hinaus aufgrund ihrer Effizienz Steuervorteile. Da außerdem die modernen Gasturbinenanlagen in der Zeit der Liberalisierung des Strommarktes, des Markteintritts unabhängiger Stromerzeugungsunternehmen und des verschärften Wettbewerbs bezüglich Betriebsführung und Instandhaltung erfolgreich optimiert werden, drohen im Vergleich dazu die älteren GT-Kraftwerke technisch und wirtschaftlich unattraktiv zu werden.
