Zusammenfassung

Die transabdominelle präperitoneale Patchplastik (TAPP) wurde vom Erstautor 1993 im Marienhospital Stuttgart eingeführt. Von Beginn an wurde jeder Eingriff dokumentiert und der Patient in ein Follow-up-Programm aufgenommen. Eine Analyse der Ergebnisse erfolgte in regelmäßigen Intervallen. Schrittweise konnte daher die Technik weiterentwickelt und Fehler konnten vermieden werden. Die Akzeptanz bei den Patienten war beispiellos, sodass ab 1995 jährlich zwischen 1000 und 1200 TAPP-Operationen pro Jahr durchgeführt werden konnten. Heute ist die Technik streng standardisiert, leicht reproduzierbar und eignet sich als Ausbildungsoperation. Die Komplikations- und Rezidivraten sind gering, der Patient kann rasch nach der Operation wieder seine gewohnten körperlichen Aktivitäten aufnehmen. Im vorliegenden Kapitel werden detailliert die einzelnen Operationsschritte beschrieben und mit reichlichem Bildmaterial anschaulich dargestellt, außerdem werden die Risiken, mögliche Komplikationen sowie ihre Prävention diskutiert.
