Zusammenfassung

Das Harnblasenkarzinom repräsentiert eine der häufigsten onkologischen Erkrankungen weltweit. 130.000 Menschen versterben jährlich weltweit an einem Harnblasenkarzinom. Männer erkranken doppelt so häufig wie Frauen, wobei das mittlere Erkrankungsalter bei 69 Jahren für Männer und bei 73,4 Jahren bei Frauen liegt. Zahlreiche kanzerogene Substanzen sind identifiziert worden, deren Exposition ursächlich mit der Entstehung des Harnblasenkarzinoms vergesellschaftet ist. Allen voran ist der Zigarettenkonsum zu nennen, gefolgt von aromatischen Aminen, deren Exposition zum Teil beruflich bedingt ist. Die Strahlentherapie kann ursächlich sein für die Entstehung von Sekundärmalignomen, unter anderem können Harnblasenkarzinome entstehen.
