Zusammenfassung
Wie am Ende von Kap. 8 festgestellt, haben englische Kathedralen spezielle Charakteristika: Sie sind in der Regel ein Gemisch aus verschiedenen gotischen Stilen, oft auch noch mit normannischen Teilen. Sie sind meist aus unterschiedlichen Teilen zusammengesetzt, und diese sowie die Kirchen weisen eine enorme Vielfalt auf bzgl. Strukturen und Formen. Eine lange Bauzeit ist ebenfalls typisch. Die Kirchen sind lang und nicht so hoch. Inhomogenität und Formenvielfalt sind somit die Hauptmerkmale.
