Zusammenfassung
Dieses Kapitel behandelt die grundlegenden Einflußgrößen, die das Klima und die meteorologischen Prozesse auf der Erde bestimmen, wie z.B. die solare Einstrahlung und deren räumliche und zeitliche Variation durch die Bewegung der Erde um die Sonne und die Drehung der Erde um ihre eigene Achse. Weiterhin werden die thermische Abstrahlung der Erde, atmosphärische Strahlungstransportprozesse und die aus dem Strahlungshaushalt resultierende Temperaturverteilung der Erde beschrieben.
