Zusammenfassung

Eine adäquate Flüssigkeits- und Elektrolytbilanz stellt bei sehr unreifen Frühgeborenen eine besondere Herausforderung dar. Überwässerung wie auch Dehydratation sollten möglichst vermieden werden. Dabei sind Maßnahmen zur Verhinderung des insensiblen Wasserverlustes von großer Bedeutung. Elektrolytentgleisungen sind nicht selten und können durch ihre unmittelbare Wirkung auf das Reizleitungssystem des Herzens rasch lebensbedrohlich werden. Sie müssen deshalb frühzeitig erkannt und adäquat behandelt werden.
