FormalPara DefinitionBezeichnung für die positiv geladene Elektrode einer elektrolytischen Zelle, in die der Strom aus dem Elektrolyten eintritt (griech. anodos: aufwärts).
FormalPara BeschreibungIn einer Elektrolytlösung wandern Anionen (negativ geladene Ionen) zur Anode. Sie geben dort Elektronen ab und werden oxidiert (ihre Oxidationszahl wird erhöht). Die Anode ist der Gegenpol zur negativ geladenen Kathode. Beide werden unter dem Begriff Elektroden zusammengefasst.
