Zusammenfassung
Als strukturelle Phasenumwandlungen werden alle Phasenübergänge im festen Zustand bezeichnet, die mit Änderungen der Struktur und des Volumenanteils der Phasen verbunden sind. Dazu zählen auch Umwandlungen zwischen dem amorphen Zustand und Kristallphasen. Dagegen zählen zum Beispiel magnetische, Normalleiter-Supraleiter- und Metall-Halbleiter-Phasenübergänge nicht zu den strukturellen Umwandlungen, selbst wenn sie mit schwachen Verzerrungen (z.B.Magnetostriktion λ = 10− 5… 10− 6) verbunden sind.

In diesem Kapitel werden nur feste Phasen behandelt. Wir schreiben alle thermodynamischen Funktionen ohne den Index k für kristallin. Vielmehr werden die festen Phasen mit den Indizes M – Matrixphase, P – Produktphase oder mit griechischen Buchstaben als spezifische Phasen bezeichnet.
