Zusammenfassung

Der endobronchiale Ultraschall hat sich für das »Staging« von Frühkarzinomen, von Lymphknoten und die Diagnose der Wandinfiltration als anderen Verfahren überlegen erwiesen. Technische Weiterentwicklungen wie ein »harmonic imaging« und auch die Elastographie, sowie auch die therapeutische Option mit energiereichem Schall zur Gewebezerstörung, werden die Anwendungsbreite wesentlich erweitern. Aufgrund der Evidenz hat sich der endobrochiale Ultraschall in der Diagnostik von Rundherden sowie in der Abklärung von mediastinalen Prozessen zwischenzeitlich als das Verfahren der Wahl etabliert.
