Das Mucopeptid der Zellwand der A Streptokokken besitzt eine Reihe von Eigenschaften, welche an Endotoxin erinnern [3]. Das Produkt verursacht Fieber und senkt den Blutdruck. An beiden Phänomenen beteiligt sich Serotonin [1, 2].
