Abstract

Electrochemical methods have been relatively little used in the analysis of tin, apart from the use of controlled potential electrolysis for the analysis of some alloy systems and the use of conventional polarography for the determination of moderate amounts of tin in e.g. organic matter. However, improved instrumentration, giving increased sensitivity, particularly in a.c. polarography, has made it possible to determine tin at very low concentrations; the work so far done in this field seems highly promising, though difficulties with e.g. reagent blanks, may prove a limiting factor.
