Abstract
Soft tissue defects of the perineum may result in significant anatomical and functional anomalies. Every effort has to be made to restore contour and function, the psychological impact of such a problem being disastrous. Skin defects in this area may result from infection, burns, skin tumor surgery, pressure sores, trauma, or radiodermatitis. Congenital anomalies will not be discussed here.
