Abstract

In a number of publications (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) from this laboratory from 1951 to 1958, we reported on the phase, electron microscopic and cytochemical observations on Leishmania donovani, the Kala-azar parasite Using water disruption, acid hydrolysis, and ultra-thin sectioning techniques, a number of protoplasmic constituents of this protozoon were studied under the electron micro-scope. In two recent papers, Chang (6) and Inoki et al. (7) have also described electron microscopic observations on the structural organisation of this protozoon.
