Abstract

The chemisorption of hydrogen on metals seems to be characterized by fairly localized bond electrons which, nevertheless, affect a number of cooperative phenomena typical for the metallic state (1). The experimental examination of the nature of the bond is difficult, and reliable data are scarce.
