In der bisherigen Entrepreneurship-Forschung gibt es bereits viele Prozesse, um Innovationen in Unternehmen zu entwickeln, jedoch wird selten über den Ausgründungsprozess als Verwertung und Folge von Innovationsprozessen nachgedacht – so auch über den Prozess der Ausgründung eines Spin-offs.
