Abstract
This chapter contains the description of several empirical studies that analyzed the effect of thermal stimulation. The driving studies from literature that dealt with the effect of thermal stimulation (Table 6, in Chapter 2.2.4) revealed that it is difficult to see any pattern in which conditions thermal stimulation successfully mitigates fatigue. This is because the absolute change in temperature, the duration of the temperature change, the initial temperature, the targeted body parts, the presence of sleep-deprivation, the ongoing tasks, and the dependent variables varied across these studies.
