Abstract
The following chapter is devoted to motivating this thesis, which is based on the development and progress of our previous publications [NSLL15, NSU+16, NSX+17b, NSX+17a, NSP+17, NSS+18b, NSS+18a, NPE+19, NSV+18, PNS+19, NSZK18]. Besides, the two supervised student works [Per18, Eng18] are also addressed. For this purpose, the first section discusses the challenging problems of road detection.
