Integration versus Abgrenzung: Die Schweizerische Volkspartei und die Politisierung der Einwanderungs- und Europapolitik

Zusammenfassung

Der Buchbeitrag analysiert die zentrale Rolle der Schweizerischen Volkspartei (SVP) bei der Politisierung der Einwanderungspolitik. Generell gilt die SVP als eine der erfolgreichsten rechtspopulistischen Parteien in Europa, und die Schweiz als Paradebeispiel für den Aufstieg einer neuen Konfliktlinie zwischen Integration und Abgrenzung. Neben der Politisierung der Europapolitik kommt dabei der Auseinandersetzung um Immigration und Integration von ZuwanderInnen eine wesentliche Bedeutung zu. Vor dem Hintergrund dieser Entwicklungen zeichnet der Buchbeitrag auf der politischen Angebots- und Nachfrageseite die stärker werdende Bedeutung von Migrationsfragen in den nationalen Wahlen in der Schweiz von 1975 bis 2015 nach. Dabei wird einerseits aufgezeigt, wie die SVP im Zeitverlauf ihre Mobilisierung vom Europa- zum Immigrationsthema verlagert hat bzw. wie diese beiden Themenfelder in jüngster Zeit stärker miteinander verknüpft werden. Andererseits wird der Einfluss kritischer Einstellungen zu Europa und Immigration auf die Wahl der SVP im Zeitverlauf analysiert. Empirisch stützt sich die Analyse auf originäre Daten zur öffentlichen Auseinandersetzung während nationaler Wahlkämpfe sowie auf die kumulierten Daten der Schweizer Wahlstudie (Selects) und des European Social Survey (ESS).
