Im 31. Kapitel wird das euklidische Skalarprodukt eingeführt. Darauf aufbauend werden Norm, Metrik und Winkel definiert und als beispielhafte Anwendung die hessesche Normalenform vorgeführt. Orthogonale Abbildungen und Matrizen werden diskutiert und als Vertiefung wird am Ende des Kapitels kurz auf die Singulärwertzerlegung eingegangen.
