Abstract
German foundations are overly active in Israel and the Palestinian Territories. All six foundations pursue multiple projects. Within a range of 60 km there are 10 foundation offices. Especially in a region already suffering from an overload of international non-governmental work, one may ask to what extend the work of the foundations can contribute. Overlaps between project and partner funding must be avoided and coordination between the offices must be achieved. Therefore, a high spirit of cooperation between the foundations is needed to fulfil the goals of the work in this area—namely to contribute to the peace process and a strong civil society.
