Mit Newcastle disease bezeichnet man eine in allen Erdteilen en- oder epizootisch auftretende akute Viruskrankheit des Hausgeflügels. Sie betrifft den Respirations- und Gastrointestinaltrakt sowie das Zentralnervensystem und erreicht in Europa eine Letalität bis zu 90%.
