Zusammenfassung

Die Grippe ist eine durch die Grippe viren hervorgerufene häufige akute, selten schwer verlaufende Infektionskrankheit des Menschen, die unter meist uncharakteristischen Allgemeinerseheinungen abläuft und vorwiegend den Respirationstrakt befällt, dabei eine Neigung zu bakteriellen Komplikationen zeigt. Die Grippe, früher und auch heute noch vielfach Influenza genannt, tritt seltener sporadisch, meist gehäuft auf, vor allem in winterhchen Epidemien und in größeren Abständen als weltweite Pandemie, dann manchmal auch mit beträchtlicher Mortalität.
