Zusammenfassung
Die Leistungen der Intensivmedizin werden heute von verschiedenen Standpunkten aus beurteilt: Der Erfolg für den individuellen Patienten wird daran gemessen, ob der Patient überlebt. In neueren Untersuchungen wird nunmehr auch der funktionelle Status und die Lebensqualität des Patienten nach der Intensivtherapie in die Abschätzung des Therapieerfolgs miteinbezogen. Die detaillierte Beurteilung der Lebensqualität des Patienten nach der akuten Behandlung soll unter Berücksichtigung seiner funktionellen, psychischen und sozialen Kompetenz eine objektive individuelle Erfolgsabschätzung ermöglichen.
