Zusammenfassung
Mit annähernd 40.000 Neuerkrankungen pro Jahr in Deutschland stellen kolorektale Karzinome bei Männern nach dem Bronchialkarzinom und bei Frauen nach dem Mammakarzinom die zweithäufigste Krebserkrankung dar. Trotz Verbesserungen in der Diagnostik und Therapie beträgt die 5-Jahres-Überlebensrate zur Zeit nur ca. 50%. Dabei ist die Prognose abhängig vom Tumorstadium und der operativen Therapie.
