Abstract
Several approaches have been proposed to overcome the difficulty of getting high resolution images of solid materials, which is due to the relation between the natural line width of the sample Δv, the gradient applied G and the spatial resolution δ: δ = Δv/γG (1) where γ is the gyromagnetic ratio of the nuclei observed. Most methods use artificial line narrowing by special pulse sequences. The two main disadvantages of such methods are: first one has to find out the proper experimental conditions to get the desired δ and, second, these conditions are not universal for all materials of interest.
