NMR Study of Molecular Motions and Phase Transitions in (CH3) 3NHPbX3 (X=Cl,Br,I)

  • Conference paper
25th Congress Ampere on Magnetic Resonance and Related Phenomena

Abstract

ABX3 (Where A = NH4,N(CH3)4, NH(CH3)3,NH3CH3 …., B = Zn,Cd,Hg,Pb…., X = CI,Br,I) compounds show phase transitions with temperature and the reorientational motion of the cations are found to be responsible for these phase transitions. Proton spin-lattice relaxation time (T1) measurements are carried out on the titled compounds from 300–77 K at 9.75 MHz to probe the phase transitions if any, and also to study the molecular dynamics of the reorienting protonic groups.
