Abstract
The NMR satellite transition frequencies and T1 of the 14N (I=1) nucleus were investigated in the various phases of (NH4) 2ZnCl4. In the incommensurate phase, the frequency splitting yields the exponent β=0.35 of the 3d XY model and T1 indicates the soft phase fluctuations of the modulation.
