Abstract
We report 31P NMR detection of separate T1 minima of ammonium (ND4 +) reorientations and intrabond (O-D—O) deuteron (acid) motions in the deuteron glass Rb1-x(ND4)xD2PO4. This is the first time both types of motion have been detected by means of dipolar relaxation using a spin-1/2 nucleus. The results compare favorably with similar measurements on the ammonium and acid deuterons.
