Zusammenfassung

Die Pyrolyse (Py)-Massenspektrometrie (MS) ist ein wichtiges Verfahren zur Charakterisierung von hochmolekularen Verbindungen und wird häufig zur Untersuchung von synthetischen Polymeren, Biopolymeren, sowie komplexen Naturstoffen eingesetzt [1–4]. Die intakten makromolekularen Substanzen sind für eine direkte Untersuchung durch Massen-spektrometrie nicht geeignet, da sie nicht unzersetzt in die Gasphase gelangen. Zur massenspektrometrischen Bestimmung z. B. von Polymersequenzen ist es erforderlich, Hauptkettenbruchstücke zu erzeugen, die ohne Sekundärreaktionen in die Gasphase gebracht werden können. Während die nichtdestruktiven Analyseverfahren wie UV, IR und NMR usw. Aussagen zu funktionellen Gruppen und der unmittelbaren Nachbarschaft zwischen Untereinheiten liefern, können nach dem (destruktiven) thermischen Abbau mit der Massenspektrometrie lange Sequenzen der Polymerkette erfaßt werden.
