Zusammenfassung
Die Analytische Chemie hat während der letzten Jahrzehnte infolge der raschen Entwicklung immer genauerer und empfindlicherer Methoden eine zuvor kaum vorstellbare Bedeutung gewonnen. Analytische Ergebnisse sind die Grundlage für Planungen und Entscheidungen auf vielen Gebieten; genannt seien z. B. die Entwicklung und Produktion von Chemikalien, Arzneimitteln, Lebensmitteln und Schädlingsbekämpfungsmitteln sowie der Umweltschutz. Von den Ergebnissen wird erwartet, daß sie zuverlässig sind und eine richtige Aussage liefern. Falschaussagen können zu Fehlplanungen, wirtschaftlichen Verlusten oder auch zu Gesundheitsgefährdungen führen.
