Emission Tomography: Physical Aspects

  • Conference paper
Computerized Tomography

Abstract

Although various groups (Kuhl et al, Brownell et al) started working in the field during the 1950’s (1, 2), the technique of emission computerized tomography (ECT) in nuclear medicine have developed dramatically over the past few years. This development is mainly due to the appearance of new mathematical tools (3), powerful mini-computers and increased sophistication in detection methods.
