Abstract

Improved gantry construction, narrower beam collimation, finer data sampling and refined techniques for image filtration now provide the physician with CT images of superior spatial resolution and adequate contrast resolution. (10) Applied to the spine, these high resolution CT images delineate the normal and pathologic anatomy of the spinal cord in exquisite detail, permitting sophisticated diagnosis of spinal cord lesions.
