Zusammenfassung
Die von Charcot 1868 beschriebene Kleinhirntrias von Nystagmus, skandierender Sprache und Tremor als Charakteristikum der multiplen Sklerose (Syn.: Encephalomyelitis disseminata, Charcot-Krankheit) ist keineswegs der Hauptbefund. Statistiken an einer großen Zahl von Patienten ergaben Pyramidenbahnläsionen bei mehr als 90%, Visusstörungen bei etwa 60% und Augenmotilitätsstörungen (Doppelbilder) bei etwa 40%, Sensibilitätsstörungen bei 83%, Hirnstamm- und Kleinhirnstörungen bei 75%, Blasenstörungen bei 57%, Gangataxien bei ca. 50%, Dysarthrie bei etwa 20% (Weinshenker et al. 1989).
