Abstract

In less than fifty years Mankind fired more than 2,000 nuclear weapons, more than a half of which were detonated underground. Figure1 shows a histogram of the number of explosions per year carried out by each nuclear power. Atmospheric explosions are indicated by white bars, the underground ones by black bars. Figure2 shows the points of the world surface where nuclear explosions have been performed.
