Abstract
Complex anatomy and pathology are encountered in the middle and inner ear, representing a challenge to radiological assessment. High-resolution (HR) cross-sectional imaging (CSI) has become accepted for evaluation of the petrosal bone and its compartments (Valvassori et al. 1995). Postprocessing of CSI data permits three-dimensional (3D) visualization and endoscopic views, eliminating the need for mental translation of two-dimensional (2D) images into the real 3D subject.
