Zusammenfassung
Die Regulation von Aldosteronsekretion und Natriumhomöostase sind eng miteinander verknüpft. Während Franz Gross und andere Forscher Anfang der sechziger Jahre noch davon ausgehen durften, daß diese Verknüpfung durch das Renin-Angiotensin-System dominierend beherrscht würde (12), zeigten zahlreiche Untersuchungen und Beobachtungen in der Folgezeit, daß Renin und Angiotensin in diesem regulatorischen Netzwerk selbst nichts anderes sind als Knotenpunkte von herausgehobener physiologischer Bedeutung:

— Eine Natriumverarmung, diätetisch oder experimentell, verschiebt die Dosis- Wirkungsbeziehung zwischen Angiotensinkonzentration und Aldosteronsekretion nach links.

— Eine Natriumretention oder -belastung verschieben sie nach rechts.

— Beide Vorgänge sind unabhängig von der gleichzeitigen Stimulation oder Hemmung von Reninfreisetzung und Angiotensinbildung (7).

— Die Wirkungskurve von ACTH auf die Aldosteronfreisetzung wird durch Veränderungen der Natriumhomöostase in gleicher Weise beeinflußt (10).
