Weichteilsonographie — Meniskus, Sehnen, Tumoren

Summary

Sonographic examination of the rotator cuff is a very accurate method for detecting pathological changes, especially in rotator cuff tears. In many cases it can replace arthrography. Similar results can be expected in sonography of the meniscus. In our prospective clinical study an unselected group of 110 patients was examined. The accuracy was 77%, sensitivity 74% and specificity 79%. When scanners are improved sonography will also replace arthrography for the meniscus. It also plays a useful and important role in detecting soft tissue lesions or tumors.

Zusammenfassung

Die sonographische Untersuchung der Schulter hat einen hohen Aussagewert (Trefferquote 90%) bei der Darstellung pathologischer Rotatorenmanschettenveränderungen (z.B. Rupturen). Hier ist die Arthrographie nur noch selten indiziert. Ähnliches gilt für die Meniskussonographie. In unserer prospektiven klinischen Studie an einem nicht vorselektionierten Krankengut, erreichten wir eine Trefferquote von 77%, bei einer Sensitivität von 74% und einer Spezifität von 79%. Mit verbesserten Schallköpfen wird die Trefferquote steigen und die arthrographische Untersuchung erübrigen. Pathologische Weichteilveränderungen werden ebenfalls gut erfaßt.
