Zusammenfassung

Umwandlung von Aminen in Olefine Die Eliminierung eines Amins 1 zu einem Olefin 3 unter Abspaltung des Stickstoffatoms sowie eines vicinalen Protons ist eine bedeutende Reaktion der Organischen Chemie. Am häufigsten wird hierzu die Hofmann-Eliminierung 1,2) angewendet, bei der das Amin durch erschöpfende Methylierung zunächst in das entsprechende quartäre Ammoniumhydroxid 2 umgewandelt wird; eine andere Möglichkeit ist die →Cope-Reaktion.
